Two days ago, my good friend Trevor took my dad and I up in his 1974 Cessna.

Who knewd my first naked photo would be a DUDE!

Normally I wouldn't post an image like this, but the story behind it is what makes this images interesting.

I went to Red River Gorge, Ky this past weekend and when we arrived, everyone was already out climbing. So my friend, Matt theBallard and I decided to go swimming, due to the stank hotness of the day.
After swimming we were walking back to the car which was at the opposite end of the retaining wall from where most people park and swim. Ballard being the skater that he is, was stoked on the wall saying how one could add some quick concrete and skate the wall, which would make for an awesome photo with the lake in the background. We got to the car and he was like, "If I stand on top naked (so when we show our buddy Andy Collins back home, it would be hilarious), will you stand on your car and get a shot of it?"
I didn't care, so I said, "Go for it."
I made sure the light was correct as he was covered by his shirt around the waste and I said, "Lights good, we're good."
As soon as he dropped the shirt and the shutter clicked, I heard something off in the distance. I looked right and 8 guys were walking towards the car screaming at us, "You motherfuckers and some other nonsense." I said, "Get in the fucking car now, we gotta go. Where are the keys?"
As we were pulling out a car pulled out and they yelled at the car to block us in and the car did. We said, "Look, we were taking a photo and obviously these people are pissed, don't get involved, just move." So they did. At that moment the 8 people were closing in and screaming with fists of rage, "Get your art fag shit outta here, as they surrounded my car." They started to throw punches to the body of my car and windows. I could see off in the distance more ignorant locals running towards us. In a split second I was thinking, "There is absolutely no reasoning with these backwoods people. They already had it in their mind they were ready to fight and you cannot reason with a person who does not adhere to logical rationale." I threw my car in gear and just gunned it for whoever was in front of me. Everyone jumped out of the way and I gunned it to the opening to leave.
As I got there, a large backwoods women with a 40.oz in here hand is standing in my way and screaming obscenities as well. I slowed down. At that moment more people were closing in our vehicle and people began punching my car again almost to the point of a broken window. In my head I said, "Fuck it." I stomped the gas again, clipped one person and the fat women jumped out of the way and we were gone.
The messed up thing is, everyone changes naked in the parking lot to go swimming. If I had been shooting a female, I don't think the same situation would have occurred.

Aftermath:
We left, went back to the central part of RRG, KY. Told some local climbers that I knew what had happened and they informed me of other stories they had heard and that if they had gotten Ballard or I out of the car we would have both been beaten probably to unconsciousness. There was absolutely no way for 2 guys to take on an angry mob of about 15.
Back in 1998, I was camping in the gorge and got robbed in the middle of the night by 5 locals.
Cars get broken into often by locals and the laws are as they were in old days, in which that people take matters in their own hands.
People get robbed, beaten and/or shot and there is no one to call.

Be prepared, be safe, don't be stupid!

Mystical Day in Red River Gorge

The fog that creeps through the valley is very ominous.
